Fracking leases around Fitzroy. This is a map of petroleum leases in the Kimberley where companies can apply to frack. The green areas have only just been released so companies are allowed to bid on those up until March next year.
The Victorian government has just banned fracking and the new NT government has put in a moratorium.
There could be 40,000 fracking wells in the Kimberley if this industry takes off - they are a huge risk to water.
